Are cars/autos/trucks etc. really the champion killers of the world?

I have spent more in my lifetime on cars than any other commodity.(approximately $755,000) Initial cost,on-going maintenace like repairs, oil changes, grease jobs, gasoline and insurance. The expenses of a car can “eat you alive” I think you get my point; buy a good bicyle! No polution, not expensive, and watch your bank account grow!!
