This is a double DVD status of the Red Ribbon Army saga. Not to be confused with an trusty box area (ie: a multitude of DVDs contained within a box), this is simply 2 dvds in 1 dvd case (a dvd holder on each side when opened) . Within it a booklet (well I shouldn’t say a booklet, it’s unprejudiced one section of paper folded in half) that contains the episode information such as episode numbers and summaries.

Now that we’ve reviewed what it actually is, let’s talk about what’s contained on the discs. Finally! The unique Dragonball available in the new uncut Japanese glory with subtitles! What a deal too! If you were upset with the Dragonball Z dvds only having 3 episodes a section, you will be more than cheerful with this. Funimation brings you 8 episodes on the first dvd, and 9 episodes on the second, bringing you a total of 17 broad Dragonball episodes. Apparently they aren’t trying to milk this like they are with ‘Z’, and for all the unusual Dragonball fans this is a blessing!

Take a step serve from all the fighting you glimpse in Dragonball Z, and label along with chibi Goku on all of his action-packed adventures. Goku takes on the Red Ribbon Army to rob benefit his grandfather’s momento (the 4-star Dragonball), and later saves a captured village chief. This saga is fat of action, humor, suspense, all with the elegant art by Akira Toriyama you’ve arrive to know and savor all these years. This saga is taken from the modern Toriyama manga, but with more stuff added only available in the anime.

For $…, and free shipping on Amazon.com, this is one deal you do NOT want to pass up.. especially if you’re a hardcore Akira Toriyama fan. You may want to check out the other Dragonball “boxed sets” which include King Piccolo share 1 and 2, and the Tournament saga. If I could give this 6 stars, I would.

The only thing I can judge of that’s remotely disappointing is the extras, which include character profiles and a trailer for another anime (I beget it’s Lupin 3rd) . The profiles are graceful frigid, especially if one isn’t familiar with all of them, but I would’ve liked something special like an interview with Akira Toriyama, or any of the creators of the anime. Let’s hope we watch some worthwhile extras in the future!

Finally. No more waiting for Toonami having to prove the kiddie versions. I have seen the Cartoon Network versions, and I can’t occupy some of the things they took out. With characters such as Major Metalitrron, Ninja Murasaki, Android “Eighter” Number Eight, Buyon among many others, you cannot go tainted. If you liked the Cartoon Network versions, you should rep this position. Remember, this is only one petite region of many to arrive. It will pick a couple years to gather the entire series, but it will be well worth it.

If you really esteem “The Silence of the Lambs”, then this is the best edition you could score (though, nowadays it’s also the only one you can secure) .

I have seen every DVD release of this film, though sadly I wasn’t archaic enough to notice it when it first came out. Nevertheless, MGM and 20th Century Fox have really outdone themselves:

1. Criterion

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Silence of the Lambs! Click Here

The Criterion Collection has always been a trusted source of films for me, and their initial release of this film was decent but lacking with special features, plus the video quality was somewhat scratchy. Collected, couldn’t beat that commentary track.

2. 2001 MGM

The MGM Speical Edition was dazzling nice to promote the theatrical release of Hannibal, with a slew of documentaries and interviews that gave a lot of information of the Silence. No commentary track, but a nice current 5.1 surround mix and a considerable needed clean-up of the venerable characterize made the greens rich and the reds blood red.

3. 2007 MGM/20th Century Fox

This unusual 2-disc region offers the same anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer as was the 2001 release and it level-headed has all of the same documentaries, but this release adds some more features that give even more information about how the film was made and the contoversy afterward. That, and the package art is absolutely enjoyable. Speaking of which, unbiased late the inside veil booklet is a tasty treat that invokes both sick humor and pleasurable tips about “cooking”

Bottom line, if you’ve never seen this film before then I highly recommend it…that is if you have a strong stomach. It’s a luminous chronicle about great and outrageous and how murky some people can really be. If you already have all of the previous releases, check this one out too, it’s worth the double-dipping into your wallet. The best reason to accept this are the added bonus features, but if you really admire this film like I do then you’ll rep it’s a mountainous addition to your DVD library.

Okay, Silence of the Lambs, a mammoth movie blah blah blah. This review is about the features and lack thereof on the criterion release.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Silence of the Lambs! Click Here

First the commentary is very proper. They mix five different people onto one track. Personally I would recall a few independant tracks as was done on (for example) the Contact DVD but it’s unexcited is an spirited commentary. The deleted Scenes are bewitching and is a feature I would like to notice more of on DVDs. The image quality is great; I can’t imagine anyone having any complaints about that. Finally, the Documentary material on the disk is enthralling but don’t gain too furious about it – it’s nothing you couldn’t win on the internet with about 15 seconds worth of trouble.

Now about the two features the disk is lacking which I mediate are serious short comings: No Subtitles and no Trailer. That a criterion release is missing these two features REALLY surprises me since they usually achieve a lot of concern into making a quality release. I hope this was unprejudiced an oversight on Criterion’s allotment and they won’t construct the same mistake in the future.

What do you think of this plan to instantly solve our economic problems?

I heard it on the radio, it’s not my idea but I like it in spirit. There are a few flaws in it but;

There are 40 to 50 million people in the work force that are over 50. Give them each one million dollars to retire and agree to stay retired, 50 million jobs created.

If they take the deal, they have to agree to buy a new American car, auto industry problem solved
.
If they take the deal, they have to agree to buy a new home or pay off an existing mortgage, housing crisis solved.

Tell congress that they must retire on social security and medicare, they will be fixed within the year.

Total cost; 50 million dollars max., a lot cheaper than the billions and billions they printed up and did nothing with!
Oh yeah right, the math is way off .
It would cost 50 billion
Nah 50 trillion, nevermind

This fondly remembered 27-minute short subject from 1959 was previously released on the diminutive edition 2-disc “Walt Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald, Vol. 4″ in 2008. Although small to only 35,000, proper Donald fans might instead want to track down a faded or collectible copy of that two-disc place which included this short alongside 30 other cartoons from that era as well as ten 1999 Donald Duck shorts and other special features. The fresh pre-order heed seems particularly steep for a bare-bones disc with a 27-minute program, and if this disc is similar or identical to the version previously unusual to the Disney Movie Club, it will include nothing besides the main feature and previews for upcoming Disney films and DVDs.

One of the last four theatrical Donald Duck cartoons, Donald in Mathmagic Land didn’t salvage the Academy Award for 1959, which went to John Hubley’s Moonbird, but it was nominated for “Best Documentary Short”. In retrospect, it’s probably not only the best educational short of that year, but one of the best of any year. Hamilton Luske directed this lavish featurette, which despite clocking in at only 27 minutes, is filled with modernistic slow ’50s style art, dense and lavish color, and our current, ghastly duck.

Teachers loved to project this film for their classes, as it was so far above the host of now decently buried educational films of the time. This DVD opens with a montage trailer of scenes from the “Unbelievable World of Disney” releases, which have the characteristic seek of the four color Technicolor of the ’60s, and that places this film in its rightful millieu. In his biography, dilapidated NBC head, Pat Weaver recalls that Disney offered NBC its film and TV catalog in the mid- ’50s if NBC would lift a fourth of the then fledgling Disneyland Park. David Sarnoff, president of RCA, which owned NBC, flatly refused. The Disneyland TV display therefore continued on ABC, with a title change in the 1959 season to “Walt Disney Presents”. Due to the runaway success of Davey Crockett, however, ABC wanted Walt to support cranking out westerns, so in 1961, the program moved to NBC, with a current name many viewers remember, “The Astounding World of Color”.

“General” Sarnoff had made determined that RCA’s one goal was to sell color TV sets, since most homes serene had sad and white, and “Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land” aired on its recent network as fragment of an hour reveal hosted by a current character, Ludwig Von Drake, called “An Adventure in Color”. I very great wish that had been included on this DVD, as not only is the program enchanting in its maintain just, as well as a approved of Von Drake fans, but it’s a moving snapshot of the early days of color TV, as the mallard professor talks about color, with continual asides like “you people with unlit and white sets will have to imagine what this looks like”. Then there’s the theme song, “The world is a carousel of color, color, color. Astonishing, astonishing color.” The accompanying dumb motion nature shots made for an unforgettable, racy entrance to the demonstrate, which segued to the magic paintbrush, the noted trademark of Disney educational films. Even in the days of dim and white sets, Disney had farsightedly chosen to film in color.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Donald in Mathmagic Land! Click Here

An early VHS release for video stores included the entire expose, but so far, the other piece hasn’t made it to DVD. This shorter featurette, however, stands alone, and has far outlived most of the other tantalizing shorts from the present. It’s also on The Chronological Donald Volume Four. Some reviewers have eminent that ten bucks might be a bit high for an under half hour explain, and it would be nice to have some extras like interviews with animators or commentary on the short. However, anyone who’s ever seen this film will probably honest be pleased to secure it on DVD. There’s also an “enhanced” teacher’s edition for about $50. That may seem steep, but you rep a “printable teachers’ guide” and public performance license to note it in class, not unlike when educators of an earlier era would race to rent the film reel from distributors, and it probably ranked as the most checked out educational film.

The math in this film has been criticized, and some of it seems a bit of a stretch, but anyone enthusiastic in the Golden Fraction or Divine Proportion, as it is variously termed, or patterns in nature, or basic principles of how a guitar works likely first got the bug watching this demonstrate. Someone might even have hit the billiard hall armed with tricky shots from the film. Some of the chessboard and geometric shapes parts might seem more like an excuse to gain some animation, but they are unexcited arresting, and this is not the only wildly speculative Disney film. If a few bits seem somewhat dated, that’s all share of the fun of a period film, and for animation lovers, this one is a cherish trove. So in many ways, this bare-bones, budget edition is the best of all worlds, and will likely entice fresh viewers to join frail fans on the well-trod path with Donald in Mathmagic Land.

Conservatives believe that the Wealhy/Rich Consumers create Jobs but the fact is there is not enough Rich/Weal?
Conservatives believe that the Wealhy/Rich Consumers create Jobs but the fact is there is not enough Rich/Wealthy Consumers to create Jobs it is the Middle Class Consumers that create Jobs does anyone else agee with me I know Conservatives won’t agree with me but what about my fellow Democrats I am a Democrat by the way.

Why High Taxes Are Bad
by Joe MartinThere’s a very simple way to demonstrate that high taxes are a bad idea. Rich people have lots of money. The best thing possible for everyone else is that rich people spend that money. Every dollar spent by a rich person is a dollar that helps employ someone else. If buying a car, auto works are employed; if buying a suit, textile workers are employed; if buying a house, construction workers are employed; if buying a yacht, dock workers are employed.

The more government taxes someone, the less likely they are to put their money in places where it can be taxed. If they stop spending, the entire economy suffers. If government lowers their taxes, they will be more likely to spend their money, thus creating jobs for everyone else.

Call it trickle down economics. Call it Reaganomics. Or call it psychology. Whatever you call it, it works. Tax someone more, they’ll spend less; tax someone less, they’ll spend more. I’m better off when they spend more. Aren’t you?

http://minorthoughts.com/economics/why-h…

Do we need the middle class?
Kevin Drum writes that

One way or another, there’s really no way for the economy to grow strongly and consistently unless middle-class consumers spend more, and they can’t spend more unless they make more.

This movie is about a group of vampires who fracture at a guy’s house while his parents are away. As their peculiar behavior becomes an increasing anxiety, he elicits the back of a professional vampire hunter. Van Helsingmeister, played by Batman’s Adam West. If this all seems like a cold, campy belief, I would agree.

The movie drags on slowly during the first 75% of the movie as dogs and cats in the neighborhood go, etc. By the time the vampire hunter enters the record, the movie is beyond saving. The final half hour was a last chance for the movie to launch getting fine, but, it does not.

Great thought and movie conception, but the script fair falls method short in keeping the action advancing and giving some action at the slay the audience is waiting for. The acting was fair terrible, but Carmen Electra actually did a credible job as the seductive vampiress. Overall, I give it 2 stars for a advantageous plan, but this one is strictly for the diehard vampire movie fans.

Imagine, if you will, a low-budget scare film with a vampire called Moondoggie (which is so distinguished easier to say that Count Eric von Zipper), a vampire-hunter called the Spacious Kahuna, almost no blood whatsoever, a soundtrack of we-can’t-actually-pay-you quality, and barely enough space to maintain 99 minutes of low-quality video together. By all means, throw Carmen Electra in there, but you’re peaceful left with one of the worst vampire films ever made. For the adore of Dracula, there’s not even any nudity in this film. Carmen’s hot – there’s no doubt about that – but she doesn’t exactly win a lot of camera time in this stinker, and you can search for plenty more of her in a wide selection of magazine pictorials than you’ll ever derive to gape at here (on an even more deflating sign, she has a body double in this film – now, I ask you, why on earth would Carmen Electra ever need a body double? ) . Who made this film, anyway? The whole point of making an sinful dread film is to rep some blooming women naked. I view everyone knew that.

So here’s the narrative. For some insane reason, the parents of Frankie (Trevor Lissauer) leave him home alone all summer while they tour Europe, seemingly unaware that a teenager with a best friend named Bogie (Danny Hitt) cannot possibly be valid. A mere one day later, Frankie finds himself hosting Moondoggie, a stranger he and Bogie met on the beach, his babe-alicious friends Katrina (Debra Xavier) and Sulka (Carmen Electra), and Frankie’s disgusting lackey Bruno (Sydney Lassick) in his home. These increasingly unwelcome guests basically rob over the whole house. Despite the fact that lost pet notices seem to appear outside legal after each of Bruno’s amazingly bloody meals, trash bags are primitive to camouflage all of the windows, queer petite knick-knacks like Satanic crosses begin popping up, and three coffins suddenly appear in his parent’s bedroom, it takes Frankie a while to figure out that he may in fact be suffering from a vampire infestation. With Bogie incapable of seeing anything base with Moondoggie and his hot itsy-bitsy vampirettes, Frankie has only one option – to view the aid of Dr. Van Helsingmeister (Adam West), better known as the Immense Kahuna, a surfer dude trying to live up to his family name.

Were it not for the presence of Carmen Electra in this film, it would have already fallen into the trash pit of unfavorable cinema (it was originally released in 1997 as An American Vampire Fable) . It’s not even abominable in a amusing plan – it’s objective abominable, period. As long as there are bargain bins, though, there will be guys like me who sight Carmen Electra adorning a DVD conceal and settle to give the film a chance. Honest be forewarned: the status is really mature, the acting is below average (including that of Adam West, who is no stranger to thoroughly unpleasant films), the special effects – which are few and far between – are amateurish at best, the filmmakers obviously had a restraining order thrown on logic before shooting began, and the list unbiased goes on. The only people who should subject themselves to American Vampire are those of us obsessed with watching as many terrible anxiety films as we can gather our hands on.

This is a large DVD. The episode on erosion (Rocks and Rolls) and the power of water is one of our MSB favorites. The water cycle one (Wet All Over? ) is also very capable, although maybe not so grand for the particularly young (my littlest one lost interest in this one at 3yrs aged) . The field walk to the bottom of the lake was ok, but we wouldn’t list it among the best. I was hoping for an exploration of a coral reef, but apparently I’ll have to wait a small longer!

I homeschool (unschool) my son, and the Magic School Bus series is Expansive for teaching kids science. We now have all the DVD sets and a few VHS’s.

If you’re irregular with the premise, the central characters are Ms. Frizzle (a teacher), her class, Liz the lizard and the Bus. Ms. Frizzle takes her class on crazy field trips, where Bus–and sometimes the kids!–experience a transformation so they can accept closer to the action. (For example, become a bee or turning into water droplets.)

I recently purchased The Magic School Bus: Catches a Wave for my son to complete our collection. As usual, it’s pleasurable!

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Magic School Bus: Catches a Wave! Click Here

This particular DVD has a hurry time of 80 minutes and features these three episodes:

Wet All Over – The Friz takes her class on a rainy wander through the life cycle of a water topple.

Rocks and Rolls – Friz and the kids go on a rough-n-tumble perambulate as they perceive a boulder subject to water erosion.

Ups and Downs – This bubbly sail takes residence at the bottom of Walkerville lake!

There’s not noteworthy in the blueprint of bonus material, as usual (only What Comes Next? : How Lickety-split Can YOu Unravel These Water Mysteries) . The languages available are English, Spanish and French.

Highly recommend edutainment for children, especially if you want to introduce or reinforce science concepts!

A droll expose where a quirky detective is alternately helped and hindered by his obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and several phobias. The premiere was two hours long and episodes were 60 minutes long. I’m impressed that this is widescreen and DTS! Four discs and running time of 563 minutes doesn’t leave worthy room for the extras, but I haven’t been able to pick up great detail about the extras or their length.

Premiere: 1 & 2. Mr. Monk and the Candidate: Monk works as a private investigator after losing his job on the police department due to his psychiatric problems. Three years later, he gets a call from his faded boss who needs his relieve to solve a destroy.

3. Mr. Monk and the Psychic: Monk and a psychic stage a psychic reading to come by a murderer.

7. Mr. Monk and the Billionaire Mugger: A billionaire is shot slow while supposedly mugging a couple outside a movie theater.

8. Mr. Monk and the Other Woman: While investigating the execute of a lawyer and his assistant, Monk is attracted to another woman who understands him.

9. Mr. Monk and the Marathon Man: Monk tries to score out who killed a woman during the San Francisco marathon.

10. Mr. Monk Takes a Vacation: Monk goes on vacation to the beach with Benjy and Sharona. The vacation ends when Benjy witnesses a destroy.

11. Mr. Monk and the Earthquake: A man dies during an earthquake and Monk tries to point to that he was murdered.

12. Mr. Monk and the Red-Headed Stranger gs Willie Nelson: Willie Nelson (playing himself) is suspected of killing his manager.

13. Mr. Monk and the Airplane gs Tim Daly: Monk’s concerns about flying doesn’t retain him from investigating what he thinks might be a slay. The flight attendant is played by Monk’s wife in true life, Brooke Adams.

I blew it. I didn’t commence watching this demonstrate until it’s second season. Diminutive did I know what I was missing.

Tony Shalhoub stars as Adrian Monk, a extinct police detective no longer on the force because of his obsessive-compulsive disorder and his phobias. He does unruffled consult on some of their most bizarre cases, however. For example, how could an 800-lb. man commit destroy? Why was a billionaire killed while mugging a man on a date? Did a fellow airline passenger really destroy his wife? How could a man commit kill and hurry a marathon at the same time?

This series falls into the classic puzzle mystery genre, my personal current. Sometimes I have an notion why or how, but it takes the ending for me to know for definite. More often then not, I’m stumped. Along the design, we procure plenty of laughs at the various situations we rep Mr. Monk in. The obsessive-compulsive disorder and his fears are handled objective accurate. They provide the clues needed and humor without being over the top or annoying.

Of course, the series is helped by its actors. Tony Shalhoub is reliable as Monk with a performance unprejudiced slightly understated. He deserved his Emmy collect for this season. Honest as praise advantageous is Bitty Schram as Monk’s nurse Sharona. She mixes enraged and compassionate while providing a strong sidekick character that doesn’t come by lost tedious the lead. Ted Levine and Jason Gray-Stanford as the police Monk helps and Stanley Kamel as Monk’s shrink are equally wonderful.

The writing is intelligent and manages to get humor without mocking Monk, a subtle but determined distinction.

This DVD space is gargantuan for ancient and unusual fans alike. All twelve first season episodes are display, including the previously released two-hour pilot. They’re presented in widescreen and inspect spirited. The sound, while presented in 5.1 surround, is nothing spectacular. Composed, it gets the job done. Disc four has some short extras discussing the creation of the indicate, obsessive-compulsive disorder, the cast and crew’s obsessions, the Emmy salvage, and the casting of Bitty Schram and Ted Levine. I would have loved a commentary track or two and some outtakes, but they aren’t to be found here.

While the extras could have been unbiased a tad better, this state is a must have for those who appreciate light mystery. It was nice to glean the cases I’d missed. This is one mystery display you can gaze time and time again for the humor and character even if you remember how it ends.

Any stories of potential adoptive parents signing on with an agency that is entirely a ruse? Set-up shop, phones, fake name, stats and internet stories – get your money and others and move on at first sign of trouble?
Seems like this whole process is set-up in a way that this could easily be done – too much money upfront. Why not pay most expenses when you receive baby? I’m willing to pay what is necessary – am I just paranoid with all the upfront agency fees? Should I expect to pay for mother’s car, auto insurance, car repair, speeding tickets, furniture, rent, walmart cards – no kiddin’, this is in the halfway point bill.
